About
Built around Miki's treasured lion dance tradition, this festival crams the town's goods, people and customs into one event to give the community a lift – mandegan is Kagawa dialect for "the whole lot." In the "dynamic lion dance," lions of every size swirl and leap together, fun for all ages. Don't miss the giant lion of Amano Shrine: about 28 m long, it takes roughly 70 people to carry it through its dance. The venue covers the Bell City shopping center parking lot, the Miki Town Cultural Exchange Plaza and the surrounding area. It goes ahead in light rain but is called off in stormy weather. Temporary parking opens at local schools, the town hall and elsewhere, with a free shuttle bus linking some of the lots.
