About
Ochi Town's biggest autumn event is set on the riverbank of the Niyodo at Miyanomae Park. Every October, about 1.5 million cosmos open across roughly 2.5 hectares and wash the whole park in pink. After strolling through the flowers, visit the food stalls run by local eateries, where you can try dishes made with tsugani, a crab caught in the river. Paid attractions include a huge cosmos maze, designed under the supervision of Kochi University of Technology and confusing enough for grown-ups, a cosmos car, an inflatable trampoline for kids, and canoe or SUP outings on the Niyodo. Stage shows such as yosakoi and live music happen mostly on weekends, and on one Saturday night during the festival autumn fireworks go up.
