About
For two days, Tachibana-dori, the avenue through the heart of Miyazaki City, fills with dancing and music at this citizens' festival. Much of the program is open to residents who want to take part rather than just watch, including the popular dance contest, and details on joining are posted on the official website. The 2026 festival was its 23rd, with the theme "A citizens' festival we create together," and featured stage events and a mass dance by residents. Walk the avenue and you will run into dancers and performers all along it, making this one of Miyazaki's big summer events. Questions go to the festival's promotion association office.
