About

On a summer night, the Yoshino River bank in Wakimachi, Mima, becomes the stage for Awa Odori dancing and a fireworks show. The site is near Inada Bridge, and large fireworks burst one after another above Wakimachi, a town known for its old streets lined with udatsu firewalls. Dancing begins in the early evening and runs straight into the fireworks, so a single night covers two quintessential Tokushima summer experiences. If it rains, the event is moved to another day. Contact the Mima Chamber of Commerce and Industry with questions.
