About
Katsunuma in Koshu City holds this autumn celebration to share the joy of the grape harvest and thank those who built the area's history of grapes and wine. Wineries gather at Katsunuma Central Park, where you can sample Koshu wine, reds and sparkling wines while chatting with the people who make them. At the seventy-third festival in 2026, 22 wineries took part. Grapes such as Shine Muscat and Pione are sold direct, and grape juice is available too, so non-drinkers will also have fun. For the finale, a torch team made up mainly of students from Katsunuma Junior High School sets the torii gate on Mount Kashio alight, and fireworks go up. By train, paid temporary shuttle buses run from JR Katsunuma-budokyo Station or Enzan Station.
