About
Held in the Yamato area of Koshu City, this festival consoles the spirits of the Takeda clan and keeps alive the memory of the family's authority as rulers of Kai Province. Koshu City is called the sacred ground of the Takeda, with many historic sites and cultural properties tied to the clan, including Erinji, the family temple of Takeda Shingen, and Keitokuin, the family temple of Katsuyori, who succeeded Shingen as head of the house. The program includes the Takeda Katsuyori army departure pageant, performances by the Kai Tenmokuzan Katsuyori-ko Taiko drummers, stage events, a plaza full of stalls and a special exhibition on Katsuyori. The venue is a short walk from JR Kai-Yamato Station.
