About

Ninohe's signature autumn festival brings the town's traditions together over three days of mighty floats, portable shrines, street dancing and local performing arts. Each day the floats and portable shrines roll through town together to the sound of festival music. On the first evening, the Nanyatoyara folk dance is held in the grounds of Donko Inari Shrine; the second day features a re-enactment of the Mutsu no Tsuchikaze procession, Ninohe Daisaku taiko drumming and a marching band, followed by the festival's street dance. The final day brings sword-fighting performances by the Kunohe-to group, the fire brigade's bugle corps and local folk arts, before the floats disband in a closing ceremony.
