About
Held on a summer evening at Kamanashi River Park in Nirasaki, a place closely tied to the Takeda clan, this event combines a memorial service for Takeda warriors who died in battle with a fireworks display. Food stalls start opening in the late afternoon, and a fire-lighting ceremony, a lantern procession and the memorial service follow, each steeped in history, before the fireworks begin. In 2026 about 6,000 shells were launched, built around powerful star mines, with a segment pairing music and light. Paid seating (chairs, mat boxes and tables) faces the launch site, and in the paid area you could taste Nirasaki-made wine. The north side of the venue is open to watch for free. The organizer is the Takeda no Sato Festival Executive Committee, with its office at the Nirasaki City Tourism Association.
