About

Otsuki's long-standing summer festival reached its forty-third year in 2026. There is a lot to see: the traditional kagaribi bonfire procession, night stalls, traditional performing arts and dance on stage, a big Bon dance and Awa Odori along the Matsuri Kaido. The festival uses two venues, the Matsuri Hiroba on the grounds of Otsuki Higashi Elementary School and the Matsuri Kaido on old Route 20 between Otsuki Station and Otsuki City Hall. Both are about 5 minutes' walk from Otsuki Station, so it is easy to get to by train. The Matsuri Hiroba opens at 3 p.m. and the Matsuri Kaido at 5 p.m., and both run until 9:30 p.m. It is cancelled in stormy weather.
